Shipping Adjustment Policy
Last updated: to be set by PLURA LLC before public launch.
This page is placeholder text describing the general concept of carrier billing adjustments. It has not been reviewed by an attorney and should be replaced with PLURA's actual, counsel-reviewed policy before this site is used to transact with real customers.
What is a shipping adjustment?
UPS may re-measure or re-weigh a package after pickup and bill a different amount than the original quotation if the submitted weight, dimensions, or address classification does not match what the carrier records. PLURA passes along adjustments made by UPS rather than absorbing or marking them up further.
Common causes
Incorrect weight or dimensions, a residential address submitted as commercial (or vice versa), additional handling required for irregular packaging, and declared value above the standard carrier liability limit are the most common reasons a quotation changes after pickup.
How to avoid one
Measure and weigh each package before submitting a shipment request, and confirm whether the destination is a home or a business address. PLURA reviews every request before confirming a quote, but cannot guarantee against a carrier adjustment discovered after pickup.
